Program Director

About the Role

We are searching for a skilled Program Director to oversee a major transformative initiative within a significant Federal Government body. The role is based in Sydney CBD, offering hybrid work with three days onsite. This contract spans six months with potential extension and compensates up to $1,300 per day plus superannuation depending on experience.

The program focuses on revitalizing essential national business services and technology platforms utilized by millions of Australian enterprises and customers. Key areas include digital services enhancement, platform modernization, data management, cyber security, and operational transformation. The goal is to markedly improve customer experience, service fulfillment, and organizational capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead delivery of an extensive multi-stream transformative program.
• Provide executive leadership across business, technology, and delivery sectors.
• Set up and uphold effective governance, reporting mechanisms, and program controls.
• Manage complex stakeholder relationships across senior executives, sponsors, and delivery partners.
• Coordinate several vendors and system integrators to achieve program goals.
• Oversee program planning including dependency, risk, and issue management.
• Ensure successful deployment of customer-centric digital services and platform improvements.
• Handle budgeting, forecasting, and governance for the program finances.
• Promote collaboration among multidisciplinary teams to deliver strategic outcomes.

Candidate Profile

• Must be an Australian citizen.
• Extensive track record as a Program Director managing complex and large enterprise programs.
• Experience guiding significant transformation programs from start to finish.
• Background in leading major digital, technology, or customer transformation efforts.
• Familiarity with Federal Government or regulated industries such as financial services.
• Expertise managing multiple vendors and large delivery teams.
• Exceptional skills in executive stakeholder engagement and influence.
• Strong capabilities in commercial, financial, and governance aspects of program management.
• Experience in digital service delivery, platform modernization, registry transformation, or regulatory technology projects is advantageous.
