Role Overview
Ghana Communication Technology University (GCTU) is seeking applications from appropriately qualified academics for a Professor appointment within its Business School. The university, formerly known as Ghana Technology University College (GTUC), is now a public university created under the Ghana Communication Technology University Act 2020 (Act 1022). It is a technology-focused institution dedicated to higher education in Information and Communication Technology, with a campus environment designed to support teaching, learning, research, faculty growth, and academic achievement.

Application Instructions
Applicants must clearly mention the rank and department they are applying for in the heading of the application letter, for example: “Application for the Position of a Professor in the Department of Marketing.”
Eligibility and Qualifications
- A Ph.D. in the relevant discipline is mandatory.
- Candidates must either already hold a Professor appointment from a recognized university with promotion/appointment standards comparable to GCTU, or, where applicable, an Associate Professor may be considered first for appointment as Associate Professor and then proceed through the university’s promotion process.
- For GCTU-equivalent conditions, the minimum benchmark includes at least 3 years of service as an Associate Professor and a minimum of 15 publications in recognized journals.
- Three referees, with their names and addresses, must be provided.
Responsibilities
The role involves academic duties expected of a Professor at a public university in Ghana, including teaching, supervising students, conducting research, contributing to community service, and supporting faculty development.
How to Apply
Applications must be submitted online through the university’s jobs portal. In addition, candidates are required to send 10 hard copies of the application package by hand delivery or courier to the Registrar, Ghana Communication Technology University, PMB 100, Tesano-Accra. The application set should include the application letter, detailed CV, copies of certificates, transcripts, and appointment letters for the current rank.
Compensation
Pay will follow the Single Spine Pay Policy and will be in line with the conditions of service used by public universities in Ghana.
