About the Role
Join Babcock International Group as a Production Support Operative based at Devonport Royal Dockyard near Plymouth, Devon. This full-time permanent role, offering a salary between £23,200 and £24,900 plus benefits, involves maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety critical to defence operations, supporting engineering and nuclear activities at one of the UK's most important defence sites.
Key Responsibilities
- Utilize specialist cleaning chemicals and equipment to maintain plant and site facilities.
- Decontaminate and clean sensitive areas across the dockyard.
- Operate industrial cleaning machinery safely and effectively.
- Adhere strictly to all health and safety protocols consistently.
Essential Experience and Qualifications
- Comfortable working at heights and in confined spaces.
- Demonstrates a proactive attitude towards health and safety and the confidence to challenge unsafe practices.
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team and follow detailed procedures.
- Holds a full, clean UK driving licence.
- Possession of a counterbalance forklift truck licence is advantageous; training will be provided if needed.
- Certification for MEWP operation or willingness to undergo relevant training.
Security Clearance
Applicants must be eligible to obtain and maintain Security Check (SC) clearance, including necessary compliance with national security vetting regulations and trade control restrictions based on nationality and residency.
Working Conditions
The role requires on-site presence, working 35 hours per week at the Devonport Royal Dockyard.
