Role overview
LGC Genomics and Diagnostics creates and manufactures a wide range of catalogue and custom diagnostic-quality products and supporting materials for the broader life sciences sector. As a Production Scientist I at The Native Antigen Company in Kidlington, Oxford, you will join the Production Team and work primarily in the Microbiology department. The position offers an opportunity to contribute to scientific development and manufacturing work in an innovative R&D and production environment.
What you will do
Your main focus will be microbiology-based production, including bacterial culture, large-scale E. coli enzyme production, protozoan production, and plasmid production. Depending on business needs, you may also be trained to assist in other areas such as cell culture, protein purification, genotyping mastermix preparation, PCR testing, product aliquoting, and quality control work.
You will also support stock management, maintain laboratory databases, handle incoming shipments, and help keep production and quality records accurate and up to date. Full training will be provided to help you expand your technical capability across different laboratory activities.
