About the Role
The Product Owner (PO) acts as the key steward for a product or service, overseeing daily and sprint-level activities within an agile framework. This role focuses on maximizing product value by bridging customer needs with development efforts and managing the product lifecycle from inception to retirement.
Key Responsibilities
- Engage deeply with both internal and external customers to grasp their pain points and demands, leveraging data-driven insights to advance the product or service.
- Manage scope, prioritize tasks, and ensure quality across agile ceremonies to facilitate smoother execution and promote continuous delivery while upholding technical standards.
- Handle relations with suppliers, business partners, and third parties as necessary.
- Oversee all stages of the product/service including building, running, enhancing, and retiring.
- Steer the Quarterly Planning Process, supplying a summarized and measured projection of upcoming deliverables with confidence metrics.
- Account for squad budget planning by estimating required efforts and evaluating value creation.
- Perform other relevant duties assigned by senior leadership within the role’s remit.
Outcomes and Deliverables
- Establish the product vision, manage the roadmap and backlog, handle trade-offs adeptly, while juggling dependencies and unexpected tasks.
- Collaborate with Senior Leadership, subject matter experts, fellow POs, and Product Managers to align on strategy and ensure cohesive direction.
- Monitor and report progress against the roadmap, guaranteeing alignment with organizational objectives.
Candidate Profile
- Proven, extensive experience as an Agile Product Owner, fully versed in industry best practices.
- Adept at comprehending complex issues and simplifying them for clear communication.
- Familiarity with continuous delivery practices and visual tools for roadmap communication.
- Skilled in scope management, prioritization, and making decisions grounded in data.
