Role Overview
This position involves ownership of a designated product area, interfacing closely with cross-functional teams to drive product discovery, define success metrics, and ensure operational effectiveness within the product development cycle. Collaboration with engineering and AI teams is essential to understand architectural decisions, plan future initiatives, and evaluate trade-offs swiftly and effectively. The product primarily serves Department of Defense operators and delivery teams including data scientists, engineers, and partner integrators tasked with configuring and maintaining Virtualitics' deployments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a specific product domain including gathering requirements, maintaining the backlog, prioritizing tasks, making scope decisions, managing releases, and tracking outcomes.
- Work alongside engineering to influence technical decisions such as architecture and feasibility, critically evaluating estimates and trade-offs.
- Act as a communication bridge between users and developers by converting operational readiness challenges into clear product requirements obtained through direct user interaction.
- Contribute to product platform advancements including data ontology management, agent orchestration technologies, and generative interface development.
- Support delivery operations to simplify and automate workflows across various contract types and deployment models.
- Maintain transparent communication through product demos, detailed requirement documents, and alignment across teams.
Required Qualifications
- Eligibility to obtain and maintain a US Security Clearance, requiring US citizenship.
- A degree in Computer Science or a related technical field.
- At least two years of product management or software engineering experience delivering software in agile settings.
- Proficiency in reading code and reviewing system architecture with confidence in technical discussions.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AI/ML products, defense or government technology, especially in classified environments such as SIPR or NIPR.
- Background in startup environments, particularly during phases emphasizing scale and automation.
- Experience with platform products integrating technical interfaces like APIs or SDKs in addition to web applications.
- 1-2 years of software engineering experience.
