Role Overview

We are seeking a Product Data Analyst to join our Data & AI team in Austin to guide the product’s future based on data-driven insights. This position involves hands-on data analysis combined with leveraging AI to streamline routine tasks, allowing you to focus on impactful thinking. Your work will influence product decisions and user activation and conversion.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with product managers, designers, and engineers to define product success metrics, events, and KPIs.
• Design, execute, and analyze A/B experiments, from hypothesis to making clear recommendations to ship or discard features.
• Conduct funnel, retention, and cohort analyses on web and mobile platform data using SQL and Python with Snowflake.
• Create and maintain AI-aided workflows that automate routine data pulls and preliminary analysis, while validating AI outputs.
• Keep core product dashboards in Omni up to date, ensuring the team has timely basic data access.
• Translate data findings into compelling narratives and actionable suggestions for stakeholders.

Expectations After One Year

• Successfully run more than 10 comprehensive product experiments impacting activation or conversion.
• Establish defined events and metrics for product areas, enabling PMs to independently access data.
• Influence the product roadmap through analysis, with at least three features being shipped or dropped based on your insights.
• Develop an AI-powered workflow that amplifies analyst productivity by delegating routine tasks to AI agents.
• Become a key early contributor within your product pod’s decision-making process.

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience owning A/B tests end to end, resulting in concrete product decisions beyond just reporting.
• Advanced proficiency in SQL against cloud databases and practical use of Python for analyses.
• Proactively incorporate AI tools into workflows to handle routine tasks and ensure quality of outputs.
• Apply appropriate analytical methods tailored to dataset characteristics rather than using a one-size-fits-all approach.
• Deliver actionable recommendations despite imperfect datasets by building, validating, and iterating analyses.
• Collaborate effectively with PMs and designers, enhancing ease of teamwork.

What This Role Is Not

• Not focused primarily on dashboard or BI reporting, as dashboards support but do not define the analysis.
• Not involved in data engineering or pipeline construction, responsibilities handled by other team members.
• Not a management position but a senior individual contributor role.
• Not suitable for those expecting handholding on every query or metric definition.
