About the Role
Our client, an expanding Irish-owned SME, is seeking a dedicated Procurement Manager to oversee the procurement operations comprehensively. This is an independent position granting full accountability, including forming category strategies, fostering supplier partnerships, and delivering commercial value from inception.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with organizational objectives, emphasizing cost efficiency and sustainable value creation.
- Manage the end-to-end sourcing process for key categories encompassing market research, issuing RFIs and RFPs, negotiations, and finalizing contracts.
- Establish strong supplier relationships, implement governance and performance monitoring frameworks, and integrate risk management and sustainability principles.
- Collaborate internally to gather requirements, forecast demands, and uncover opportunities for savings and service enhancement.
- Initiate and maintain best practice procedures, tools, and key performance indicators to promote compliance and continuous operational improvements.
Candidate Profile
- Minimum of five years’ procurement experience within manufacturing sectors such as manufacturing, food manufacturing, or FMCG.
- Proven commercial insight backed by robust negotiation and contract handling capabilities, including experience managing RFP/RFQ processes.
- Sound knowledge of procurement governance, risk considerations, and ethical/sustainable sourcing methods.
- Data-oriented mindset comfortable with ERP or procurement software and analytical tools for performance monitoring and decision support.
- Excellent skills in stakeholder engagement and project management.
- Possession of a CIPS qualification or equivalent is desirable.
Additional Information
The role requires full-time presence five days a week at the company's Dublin location.
