Role Overview
As an Operational Support Grade at HMP Bullingdon, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth daily operations of a busy prison. Your duties will cover a range of tasks including security and searches at the entrance, managing deliveries, supervising visitors, monitoring phone calls, and observing CCTV footage. The position balances desk work with physical responsibilities such as lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles throughout the prison premises.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform security checks and searches at the prison entrance.
- Manage incoming and outgoing deliveries within the facility.
- Supervise visitors to maintain safety and order.
- Monitor and oversee phone communications and CCTV systems.
- Assist in moving vehicles across the prison grounds as needed.
Candidate Requirements
- Must hold a valid UK full driving licence including category D1, permitting operation of vehicles with up to 16 passenger seats and a maximum length of 8 meters, with trailers up to 750kg.
- Strong communication skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Good judgement, common sense, and ability to work effectively within a team.
- Flexibility to work various shifts, including nights and weekends.
- No formal qualifications required, although a willingness to learn and develop is important.
