Role overview
This position is for an Operational Support Grade at HMP Morton Hall. It is a hands-on, varied role that supports the everyday operation of a busy prison and forms part of the wider support team.
What the job involves
You will contribute to prison security and smooth daily running through a mix of desk-based and practical duties. The work may include gate security and searches, handling incoming deliveries, overseeing visitors, checking phone activity and CCTV, and carrying out physically active tasks such as lifting, moving items and walking across the prison site to escort vehicles.

The post includes a range of shifts, including weekends and nights.

Pay and benefits
The salary is £29,432. In addition to base pay, the package includes 25 days of annual leave on appointment, increasing to 30 days after 10 years of service on a pro-rata basis, plus 9 days of bank, public and privilege holidays. You will also have access to a paid Level 2 apprenticeship in customer service, the Civil Service pension scheme, season ticket loans, retail discounts, an Employee Assistance Programme and a Cycle to Work scheme.
