Overview
Join His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service as an Operational Support Grade (OSG) at HMP Erlestoke, a role essential to maintaining the smooth functioning of a busy correctional facility. Role and Responsibilities
In the OSG role, you will support the daily operations of the prison through diverse tasks including security checks, managing deliveries, overseeing visitor access, monitoring telephone communication, and operating CCTV systems. The job combines administrative duties with physical activities such as lifting, carrying, and escorting vehicles within the prison grounds. Shift work encompasses various schedules, including nights and weekends, requiring adaptability and teamwork.
Candidate Profile
No formal educational qualifications are necessary; however, strong communication skills and the ability to remain composed under pressure are vital. Exercising sound judgment and common sense, along with working cooperatively within a team, are key qualities for success in this dynamic environment. Interaction with inmates is limited in this role but may occasionally occur depending on the prison setting.

Compensation and Perks
