About the Role
This is a key opportunity for an experienced PMC Project Controls Lead with a strong history in managing planning, scheduling, budgeting, and progress tracking to ensure projects meet their goals efficiently and within defined constraints, working for a prominent client.

Key Objectives
- Creating detailed plans, schedules, and workflows for guiding project execution.
- Monitoring budgets, forecasting costs, and controlling finances throughout project lifecycles.
- Evaluating project milestones and performance relative to schedules and budgets.
- Identifying and mitigating potential risks proactively.
- Engaging with stakeholders to ensure alignment and transparency on project goals.
- Preparing timely, accurate progress reports for management and stakeholders.
Primary Responsibilities
- Full ownership of project planning, scheduling, and controls for engineering and construction projects.
- Developing, maintaining, and reporting against detailed project plans to meet client schedules and priorities.
- Ensuring work meets quality standards and is performed according to company procedures.
- Upholding a consistently high standard of safety throughout the project.
- Creating a comprehensive Work Breakdown Structure reflecting project scope and requirements.
- Developing, baselining, updating, and maintaining detailed schedules for design development, construction, pre-commissioning, and start-up phases.
- Collaborating with clients, team members, contractors, and subcontractors to incorporate all requirements into schedules.
- Facilitating workshops to present and review schedules with stakeholders to secure agreement before baselining.
- Agreeing with clients on progress measurement and reporting criteria.
- Reviewing subcontractor and contractor schedules to ensure conformity with the master plan.
- Periodically updating schedules to reflect progress and preparing forecasts accordingly.
- Highlighting schedule slippage issues and working with project teams to devise recovery plans.
- Analyzing impacts of scope or requirement changes and revising schedules after approvals.
- Compiling and distributing weekly, fortnightly, and monthly progress reports and curves to relevant stakeholders.
- Participating in progress review meetings with project management, clients, and contractors.
- Verifying actual progress claimed by contractors and subcontractors.
- Coordinating with procurement and supply chain teams to track and update long-lead equipment and bulk procurement statuses in schedules.
- Providing project completion forecasts including anticipated man-hours to support cost forecasting.
Qualifications and Skills
- Minimum 17 years of relevant experience in the oil and gas industry.
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering.
- In-depth knowledge of engineering, procurement, construction planning processes, and project management methodologies.
- Familiarity with Cost-Time-Resource (CTR) and progress measurement techniques.
- Experience working with diverse multinational and multicultural project teams preferred.
- Prior experience in the Middle East region considered advantageous.
