Planning Engineer

Overview

We seek a Planning Engineer with experience across multiple disciplines in the construction of Oil and Gas projects. The role involves updating construction activities, planning and scheduling, monitoring progress, performance reporting, and ensuring alignment with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Create detailed construction schedules, including micro-schedules, aligned with drawings and site needs.
• Regularly update schedules by incorporating actual progress, adjustments in scope, execution sequences, and performance data, ensuring updates remain feasible.
• Use Primavera P6 routinely to analyze schedules, recommend enhancements related to logic, critical path, task durations, float times, sequencing, resource allocation, and execution methods.
• Monitor progress closely, adhering to established progress measurement processes.
• Compare actual performance to baseline schedules, propose strategies to address delays and implement corrective measures.
• Generate weekly and monthly progress reports compliant with contract and corporate standards.
• Develop manpower histograms, Progress S-curves, and commodity curves derived from schedules, providing forecasts based on updates.
• Formulate and revise labor and equipment resource plans indicating workforce needs by trade and subcontractor as applicable.

Qualifications and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Experience ranging from three to five years in a construction contractor role focused on mechanical projects.
• Familiarity with Advanced Work Packaging (AWP) and Work Face Planning (WFP) methodologies is beneficial.
