Job Overview
The position is for a full-time Physical Education Teacher at an international school in Doha, Qatar. Reporting to the Assistant Head of Primary and PE Coordinator, the role focuses on delivering developmental physical education lessons across Primary and Secondary phases, promoting physical, social, and emotional growth in students of varied abilities.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and conduct engaging PE lessons that encourage inclusive participation and skill development.
- Teach physical education collaboratively across different school phases.
- Use effective teaching strategies to nurture teamwork, resilience, and fair play among students.
- Incorporate age-appropriate digital tools such as fitness trackers and video analysis to enhance learning.
- Maintain a safe, respectful environment fostering student confidence in physical activities.
- Plan and adapt curriculum collaboratively ensuring alignment with international best practices and inclusivity for diverse learners including SEN, EAL, and talented athletes.
- Assess and track student progress regularly using formative and summative methods; provide meaningful feedback.
- Lead and support extracurricular sports teams, competitions, and school sporting events promoting engagement and sportsmanship.
- Ensure health and safety compliance in all physical activities, facilities, and equipment.
- Engage actively in professional development, collaborative planning, and whole-school initiatives.
- Communicate effectively with parents and the wider community to support and promote the sports program.
- Adhere strictly to safeguarding and child protection policies, maintaining high standards of conduct and professionalism.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Physical Education or a related discipline.
- Valid teaching certification recognized by Qatar's Ministry of Education and Higher Education.
- Minimum of three years mentoring experience in physical education, ideally spanning Primary and Secondary levels.
- Experience in international or multicultural educational environments is advantageous.
- Well-versed with international physical education curricula and innovative teaching methodologies.
- Excellent skills in class and behavior management, differentiation for diverse learners, and use of digital technologies for record-keeping.
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal capabilities.
- Commitment to safeguarding, inclusion, and promoting student well-being.
- Energetic, passionate about physical education, and adaptable with continuous learning commitment.
