Role Overview
The Photographer position is a full-time, on-site role based in Cork. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, capturing, and editing high-quality photographs that document children's activities, events, and daily moments in a respectful and safe manner. Daily responsibilities include setting up lighting and equipment, coordinating schedules with staff, and producing images aligned with the organization's values and visual identity.
Key Responsibilities
- Plan and execute photo shoots with attention to lighting, composition, and camera operation.
- Capture candid and posed photographs that reflect the organization's ethos and visual style.
- Perform post-production tasks such as selecting, retouching, and organizing photographs for both digital and print applications.
- Collaborate closely with program and marketing teams to support campaigns, social media, and promotional efforts.
- Maintain photography equipment in good condition and readiness.
- Adhere strictly to child safeguarding, consent, and privacy policies.
- Contribute creative ideas to enhance storytelling through visuals.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficient technical photography skills, including camera handling, lighting setup, and composition.
- Experience with photo editing software such as Adobe Lightroom and Photoshop.
- Ability to manage dynamic photo shoots, particularly involving children and families.
- Strong sense of visual storytelling and understanding of branding consistency.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills for working with diverse groups and multidisciplinary teams.
- Professionalism, reliability, and adherence to safeguarding and privacy standards related to children.
- Organizational skills including effective image cataloging, file management, and meeting deadlines.
- Previous experience photographing children’s events, schools, or community programs is advantageous.
- A relevant qualification in photography, visual arts, media, or equivalent professional experience.
