About the Role
KPMG Ireland is home to more than 4,200 people working together across in-person and virtual settings to do meaningful work and grow their careers. The firm promotes an environment where people can bring their full selves to work, build global connections, keep learning, and make a real impact.
This opportunity is for a Personal Tax Technician based in Dublin under KPMG Ireland’s hybrid working model. The role sits at Assistant grade and is offered on a permanent basis.
Profile Sought
The ideal candidate will have a third-level qualification. A qualification in accounting or tax is preferred but not essential. You should bring 1 to 3 years of experience in a busy tax, accounting, or office environment, along with strong numerical and analytical ability. High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel, is also important.
What You Will Do
You will support the delivery of personal tax compliance services for Irish and multinational clients. Your work will include preparing personal tax returns within agreed service timelines, dealing with Revenue on personal tax matters, and building a solid working knowledge of income tax to produce accurate, high-quality returns.
You will also help maintain quality standards, work closely with personal tax clients including cross-border assignees, coordinate with the advisory tax team and KPMG global offices, and contribute to a strong client experience. In addition, you will help improve delivery processes, assist in preparing training material for internal personal tax courses, and carry out general tax administration tasks.
Your Team
You will join a tax department with more than 750 professionals and 42 partners. KPMG Ireland is described as the largest and most successful tax advisory firm in the country. The team advises individuals, employees, and employers with technical, strategic, and timely guidance so they can make informed decisions while meeting compliance obligations. The group works closely with People & Change, Deal Advisory, Corporate Tax, and Transfer Pricing teams to provide rounded advice to clients ranging from start-ups and multinational businesses to entrepreneurs and family firms.
Benefits and Support
KPMG offers a flexible benefits package designed to support different lifestyles. Benefits include discounted health insurance, the option to buy extra annual leave, enhanced family leave, emergency childcare cover, social events, early finish Fridays on bank holidays and during summer, relocation assistance for those moving to Ireland, and learning and development support such as LinkedIn Learning.
The firm also provides flexible working options to help balance professional and personal life. New joiners receive ongoing support from a performance manager, and the award-winning Business School offers continuous learning to deepen expertise. KPMG also highlights that it is the only Big Four firm to announce promotions four times a year, creating more frequent career progression opportunities.
Inclusion and Application Information
Inclusion, diversity, and equity are central to KPMG’s culture. The firm aims to welcome and retain talent from all backgrounds and offers reasonable accommodations during recruitment, including support at interview stage for candidates with disabilities.
Applicants who meet most of the criteria are encouraged to submit a CV. The firm also notes that agency assistance is not required for this position.
