Performance Testing Consultant

Role Overview

The position requires a seasoned professional with over 6 years of expertise in performance testing and monitoring of web applications, including at least 5 years using JMeter. The individual will develop custom scripts to enhance performance testing, leveraging diverse scripting techniques.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and customize performance testing scripts and scenarios utilizing JMeter.
• Apply strong understanding of network concepts and emerging technologies.
• Utilize solid Linux fundamentals to diagnose system resource utilization effectively.
• Engage actively in Agile software development methodologies.
• Produce comprehensive documentation and communicate effectively to influence team members and stakeholders.
• Integrate performance testing seamlessly within CI/CD pipelines.
• Design and automate performance test frameworks.
• Handle testing on large-scale distributed systems processing extensive data volumes.
• Employ cloud Infrastructure as a Service platforms, such as Azure, and container orchestration tools including Docker, ECS, and Kubernetes.
• Use databases and programming languages like MySQL, Java, and Python to support testing activities.
• Work with performance testing tools like JMeter and monitoring tools like Splunk, and application performance management solutions such as Prometheus, Dynatrace, and Datadog.
• Diagnose performance bottlenecks and implement solutions through strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Embrace additional responsibilities related to Chaos Engineering and Observability, facilitating the transition towards Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) roles.
• Create data strategies and collaborate with Test Data Management teams to generate required test data dynamically.
• Adopt proprietary client-side performance testing tools like UX Engine to assess end-user experiences when applicable.
• Develop Virtual Services using Mountebank tailored for performance testing needs.
• Foster collaboration and maintain open communication with cross-functional teams and business stakeholders.
