Job description

About the Role

We are collaborating with a major mining company based in Western Australia to find an experienced Payroll Analyst due to company expansion. This role is based in West Perth and involves extensive payroll processing, reporting, reconciliation, and quality control to guarantee precise and compliant payroll outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage complex payroll processing and quality assurance activities to ensure accurate results.
  • Perform pay period, month-end, and year-end payroll reconciliations; handle reporting including Single Touch Payroll (STP) finalisation, PAYG, payroll tax, superannuation, and other statutory duties.
  • Align payroll data with the General Ledger, investigate any discrepancies, and support accurate payroll postings.
  • Analyze payroll data, identify causes of variances and complex issues, and facilitate timely problem resolution.
  • Maintain payroll system configuration and data integrity such as tax tables, earnings and deduction codes, and General Ledger mappings.
  • Support SAP Employee Central Payroll operations including upgrades, migration projects, configuration adjustments, and user acceptance testing.
  • Contribute to payroll audits, governance, policy, and control improvements aimed at enhancing payroll accuracy and efficiency.
  • Collaborate closely with Payroll, HR, Finance, IT, and external providers offering technical assistance and guidance to payroll team members as necessary.

  • Relevant experience in finance.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Strong skills in coordination, scheduling, and monitoring.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
