Role Summary
This position involves working directly under a licensed nurse to provide clinical patient care. Responsibilities include nursing care for a designated group of patients with diverse needs, ensuring delivery of safe and quality support. Duties cover assisting patients with daily activities such as hygiene, mobility, nutrition, toileting, maintaining safety protocols, effective communication with patients and care team members, and accurate documentation of services performed.
The role may also involve specialized skills like urinary catheter insertion and removal, IV reseal removal, suprapubic catheter care, telemetry lead placement, and ostomy maintenance when qualified.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) is mandatory.
- Applicants must meet one of the following experience or education criteria: a minimum of six months acute care experience; or one year in a Skilled Nursing Facility; or successful completion of a BayCare Nursing Assistant or Patient Care Technician (PCT) Internship; or completion of Nursing Fundamentals (RN) or Nursing Foundation (LPN) curricula; or EMT certification or Paramedic license for Emergency Room roles; or completion of a PCT or Nursing Assistant program including at least 40 hours of external clinical practice.
- Preferred applicants have at least one year of hospital-related experience.
- Minimum educational attainment is a high school diploma or equivalent.

- Facility: BayCare Health System, Med Surg LTAC-PLALL
- Location: Mease Dunedin, Dunedin, Otago, New Zealand
- Shift: Night shift from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
- Weekend work required every other weekend
- On-call duty is not part of this role
- Remote work is not available; full onsite presence is expected
