Role Overview

We are seeking a skilled and creative Video Editor located in Brisbane or South East Queensland. This role offers a flexible, hybrid working arrangement, requiring presence at our Brisbane studio at least one day per week, with the remainder of work completed remotely. Ideal candidates may prefer working 2–3 full days, 4–5 half days, or an alternative schedule that meets both parties' needs. The focus is on storytelling, audience engagement, and content that captivates viewers rather than merely assembling footage.

Key Responsibilities

• Edit long-form podcasts and interview recordings with an emphasis on storytelling and pacing.
• Develop short-form content such as Reels, Shorts, and TikToks that hold viewer attention.
• Create podcast trailers and promotional materials.
• Collaborate with producers and clients to enhance the quality and impact of final videos.
• Contribute to the creative process with input on narrative and presentation beyond basic editing.
• Assist occasionally during filming or production events (this is a plus, not mandatory).

Candidate Profile

• Experienced in editing content focused on founders, business, or marketing themes.
• Has a solid understanding of timing, storytelling techniques, and audience retention strategies.
• Possesses strong design sensibilities and can produce clean, professional graphics and subtitles.
• Delivers polished and refined output, demonstrating pride in their work.
• Organized, proactive, communicates effectively, and eager to learn and improve independently.
• Enjoys innovating and willing to challenge norms for better content quality.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background in videography or camera operation.
• Experience working with podcasts and founder or personal branding content.
• Familiarity with social media trends but maintains perspective without blindly following every trend.
• Proficiency with editing tools such as DaVinci Resolve, Adobe Premiere Pro, and/or CapCut.

Employment Details and Compensation

• Part-time / casual role with 15–25 hours per week.
• Hybrid work format based around the studio in Brisbane; candidates must be near South East Queensland.
• Hourly or project-based payment considered.
• Hourly rate ranges from $30 to $40 depending on experience and suitability.
