Role Overview
The Legal team at Revolut provides practical, insightful counsel to support the business's fast growth while ensuring compliance and long-term security. The Paralegal position focuses on managing customer complaints submitted to external dispute resolution platforms, handling preliminary legal correspondence and claims, and offering day-to-day legal guidance to identify operational vulnerabilities and devise improvements.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough internal investigations and collaborate closely with various departments.
- Manage external dispute resolution complaints in alignment with applicable local laws and regulations.
- Represent Revolut in proceedings before external dispute resolution bodies.
- Handle early phase or less complex litigation matters such as drafting pre-action letters, responding to claims, and performing case reviews.
- Provide assistance to the Disputes Legal team and Legal Counsels across Revolut’s EEA operations with ad hoc legal tasks and advice.
- Identify, analyze, and resolve issues to contribute to departmental and corporate process improvements.
- Assess case outcomes to detect and mitigate legal risks.
- Establish and enhance internal procedures.
- Promote a culture prioritizing the fair treatment of customers.
- Take comprehensive ownership of problems, policies, or procedures from initiation through resolution.
Candidate Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in law or equivalent qualification recognized in Germany.
- Professional legal experience either as a private-practice lawyer specializing in financial services or comparable in-house expertise.
- Fluency in both English and German with excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong analytical abilities to investigate issues deeply and identify root causes.
- Understanding of legal remedies including negotiation tactics for refunds.
- Robust problem-solving skills to navigate and resolve complex legal cases effectively.
- High attention to detail in all tasks.
- Capacity to perform well both independently and as part of a team.
- Proven track record of working efficiently in high-pressure, fast-paced environments and making sound judgments under tight deadlines.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s degree in law and membership in the Bar Association.
- Proficiency in one or more additional European languages.
- Experience with comprehensive litigation stages, alternative dispute resolution, and regulatory matters.
