Overview
The role involves leading the development and execution of strategies to improve rail operations efficiency, effectiveness, and productivity. The Operations Lead will focus on enhancing operational capabilities through technology, workforce development, and cross-functional collaboration. The position entails managing operational plans, supporting tenders and mobilizations, and ensuring alignment with industry best practices and safety regulations.
Key Responsibilities
- Create and execute operations concepts and plans to boost rail service performance.
- Contribute to reviewing operational, contingency, and exercise plans.
- Advance operational capabilities by integrating technology that improves communication, situational awareness, and decision-making.
- Design and implement competency development frameworks for rail operations personnel under the Rail Achiever Scheme.
- Partner with HR and training institutions to develop certification, accreditation, and continuous learning pathways.
- Offer expert operational knowledge to support local and international rail tender submissions.
- Lead operations activities during project mobilizations.
- Coordinate with Maintenance, Engineering, and Safety teams to unify operational strategies.
- Engage with Original Equipment Manufacturers, Public Transport Operators, regulators, and industry peers to adopt best practices and influence standards.
- Perform additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications and Experience
- Possession of a bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Transportation Management, or Operations Management.
- Experience with project management systems and operational safety protocols.
- Proven ability to lead diverse teams across multiple locations.
- Experience in managing relationships with external stakeholders.
- Knowledge and interpretation of safety laws and regulations relevant to operations.
- Competence in safety management, risk evaluation, and development of mitigation measures.
