Role overview
This full-time regular operations position is based in Athens, Alabama, at the Durham Drive facility. The role is part of a year-long, continuously open hiring cycle, with recruitment taking place at intervals throughout the year.
Job duties and work expectations
- Move between different zones when needed and, in those areas, use blueprints and precision measuring instruments such as calipers, linear measuring equipment, and fixtures to confirm that components meet quality standards.
- Maintain constant standing work and be prepared for frequent bending and twisting throughout the shift.
- Handle physical material movement that may include lifting 35 lbs from the floor to waist level, lifting 50 lbs from waist to shoulder level, and pushing or pulling up to 15 lbs.
- Carry items weighing 35–55 lbs on a frequent basis.
- Reach forward continuously, reach sideways frequently, and reach overhead occasionally.
- Use a moderate amount of grip strength when required.
- Move to other tasks within the zone, department, division, or plant whenever the operation calls for it.
- Understand quality expectations and visually check products for defects.
- Correctly identify parts, materials, and finishes with accuracy.
- Work effectively with the locator system.
- Keep pace with the required takt time or cycle time set for the job.
- Carry out any additional department-specific duties as assigned.
Education and experience
A high school diploma or GED is preferred.
