Job Location and Reporting
This position is based in Satara, Maharashtra and reports directly to the Unit Manager – Supply Chain.
Key Responsibilities
- Ensure continuous supply to meet supplier capacity requirements.
- Effectively communicate material needs and product details to suppliers.
- Manage purchase orders, ensuring timely placement and delivery confirmation.
- Address deviations promptly by implementing corrective actions.
- Handle supplier payment approvals.
- Support the handshake process to align supply chain activities.
- Monitor and track daily purchasing milestones, focusing on quality, delivery, and cost.
- Participate actively in Cell Status Board meetings and improvement initiatives.
- Propose enhancements to instructions and standard operating procedures (SOPs).
- Maintain a continuous focus on waste elimination opportunities.
- Engage in safety and quality measures, reporting risks or issues promptly to Team or Unit Managers.
- Take ownership of personal development and stay updated on relevant knowledge.
- Conduct forecasting and logic-based planning.
- Perform supplier audits and visits as required.
- Manage importation of goods for local assembly processes.

Flexibility, eagerness to learn, and a curiosity for continuous improvement are important traits.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical or Production Engineering.
- 4 to 8 years of relevant experience in purchasing or supply chain roles.
- Proficient in ERP systems.
- Effective English communication skills, both spoken and written.
- Good understanding of supply chain management.
- Experience with supplier relationships and business process knowledge.
