Overview
At Texas Children's Hospital, every outstanding employee experience begins with a memorable welcome. As an Onboarding Specialist I, you will be essential in crafting a smooth, engaging, and compliant introduction for both new hires and current employees. Serving as a primary point of contact for our newest team members, you'll help form their initial perception of Texas Children's by delivering a personalized, customer-centric onboarding experience that embodies our mission, values, and vibrant culture.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide a remarkable onboarding journey that ensures new employees feel welcomed, well-informed, and ready to thrive.
- Advocate for a superior candidate and new hire experience through prompt communication, anticipation of needs, and interactions that mirror Texas Children's excellence culture.
- Manage pre-employment procedures, including scheduling onboarding appointments, handling employment paperwork, background checks, health clearances, and orientation coordination.
- Collaborate closely with recruiters, hiring managers, Employee Health, Employee Relations, and other HR departments to guarantee a seamless and compliant onboarding workflow.
- Assist new hires with employment documentation such as I-9 verification, ensuring adherence to federal laws and internal policies.
- Oversee New Employee Orientation logistics including registration, communication, attendance tracking, and follow-up activities.
- Accurately process employee records including new hires, internal transfers, and other HR updates efficiently.
- Act as a dependable resource by responding to inquiries from candidates, employees, recruiters, and leadership with professionalism and excellent customer care.
- Maintain meticulous attention to detail throughout the onboarding process, ensuring compliance while providing a smooth and customized experience.
- Conduct audits and quality control checks to validate the accuracy of employee records, onboarding documents, and HR transactions.
- Provide support for recruitment activities such as hiring events and talent acquisition initiatives as necessary.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED is mandatory.
- Preferably two years of administrative, onboarding, human resources, or related experience.
- A strong passion for delivering outstanding customer service and fostering a positive experience for candidates and employees.
- Exceptional precision with a commitment to accuracy, quality, and regulatory compliance.
- Excellent organizational and time management abilities that enable juggling multiple priorities in a dynamic setting.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, capable of building relationships at all organizational levels.
- Problem-solving aptitude and the capacity to work independently with sound judgment.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office and HRIS or applicant tracking software preferred.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive employee information with professionalism and discretion.
