Occupational Health Technician

Role Overview

Embark on a rewarding career in occupational health by joining our team as an Occupational Health Technician. This position involves delivering first aid training and conducting health screening services throughout the Waikato and Bay of Plenty regions, occasionally extending to other areas. The role is primarily based in Hamilton with most duties performed on client premises.

Key Duties

• Conduct first aid training sessions for groups.
• Perform occupational health screenings, including pre-employment checks, routine annual assessments, and drug and alcohol testing.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant internal and external compliance procedures.
• Manage accurate data entry using various digital platforms.
• Travel frequently within the region and beyond to visit client sites, sometimes requiring overnight stays.

Candidate Profile

• Must be legally entitled to work in New Zealand; no visa sponsorship available.
• Hold a current New Zealand driver's licence.
• Possess a tertiary qualification related to health or sports science (e.g., Health Science, Paramedicine, Sports Science). Recent graduates are encouraged to apply.
• Show enthusiasm for people-focused and preventive healthcare.
• Deliver engaging and interactive health education.
• Operate effectively in a fast-paced, schedule-driven environment.
• Demonstrate strong technological proficiency due to reliance on digital tools.
• Flexibility to start early or finish late occasionally, work some Saturdays, and stay overnight when necessary.

Employment Conditions

The position offers a guaranteed minimum of 64 hours per fortnight, with potential for additional hours. Note for nurses: remuneration is on a different scale, so prior inquiry is advised.
