Role overview
PepsiCo Foods Canada is hiring a New Grad Capital Projects Leader for the Frito Lay facility in Cambridge, Ontario.
The offered compensation range for this opportunity is 56,700 to 92,400.
This role calls for flexibility to cover different shifts, including afternoons, evenings, and weekends.

Responsibilities
- Use solid engineering methods and judgment across all assigned projects.
- Run projects using Early Management principles.
- When needed, draft scope-of-work documents for early-stage projects to assess design, feasibility, and specifications, and prepare capital appropriation requests for approval.
- Create and keep current project cost estimates and lead-time estimates, along with cost-study documentation.
- Secure and follow all project-related requirements, including permits, environmental rules, sanitary design, good manufacturing practices, safety obligations, OSHA, and other government regulations.
- Source, bid, and procure the services and equipment needed to finish projects while limiting disruption to production, and manage purchase orders, invoices, and cost tracking in line with audit standards.
- Coordinate installation work with contractors, plant employees, and support teams to ensure efficient, timely project completion.
- Oversee the creation of post-installation drawings and distribute them as required.
- Train or arrange training for maintenance staff and operators on newly installed equipment.
- Prepare cost studies and estimates for annual projects.
- Close out projects completely once work is finished.
- Identify practical ways to reduce utility and maintenance expenses.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives.
- Keep all required records to support corporate and regulatory compliance.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree completed in 2024 or 2025, or expected by June 2026.
- 2 to 5 years of manufacturing experience.
- Background in capital project planning and engineering.
- Exposure to batching and transfer systems is considered an advantage.
- Experience with high-speed packaging machinery.
- Knowledge of improvement methods such as FMEA, Six Sigma, TPM, or similar frameworks.
- Proven project management ability, with experience leading and coaching tradespeople and groups with varied education and experience levels.
- University degree in Engineering or equivalent practical experience.
- Strong technical and analytical thinking skills.
- Ability to plan long range and execute against the plan.
- Strong interpersonal skills and experience managing people.
