Role Summary
As a Network Administrator at BCM, you will be a key member of our expanding team, focused on managing and supporting our technical infrastructure that supports home, auto, farm, and commercial insurance products. This role involves hands-on responsibility for networking systems, servers, backups, and security within our office environment.
Responsibilities
- Install, configure, and sustain existing and upcoming network infrastructure components.
- Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation accessible to the IT department.
- Coordinate with external vendors to ensure systems compatibility and regulatory compliance.
- Monitor network and hardware systems, promptly addressing any issues.
- Deliver end-user technical support throughout the organization.
- Engage in IT auditing processes when called upon.
- Investigate and propose improvements for data collection systems.
- Enforce network security by carrying out staff training, software patching, and applying best practices.
- Manage and oversee network backup solutions.
- Evaluate, trial, and deploy network enhancements and new features.
- Communicate effectively both verbally and in writing with team members and stakeholders.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support organizational needs.
Qualifications and Skills
- Bachelor's degree or diploma in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related technical discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven experience (5+ years) with Windows and Linux operating systems and networking technologies.
- Hands-on expertise with on-premises servers, storage systems, and networking hardware.
- Familiarity with scripting and configuration management tools.
- Experience with backup technologies and methodologies.
- Proficiency in Microsoft 365, Entra, Azure, and similar platforms.
- Competent in Microsoft Office applications.
- Knowledge of Guidewire software is an advantageous asset.
Additional Information
This is a full-time, permanent position based onsite at our Welland, Ontario office.
Salary range: $70,000 to $95,000 annually.
