Moto Operations Specialist - Ghana

About the Role

The Moto Operations position based in Ghana plays a critical role in enhancing Uber's rider marketplace in Accra by driving user accessibility, affordability, and service reliability. This position focuses on expanding Uber's presence in a rapidly evolving, cost-sensitive transport market while maintaining a superior rider experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Drive growth and retention of Uber riders in Accra by analyzing behavior, pinpointing obstacles, and developing targeted strategies to boost acquisition and repeat engagement.
• Implement and optimize rider engagement efforts, including promotions, lifecycle marketing campaigns, and tailored initiatives for specific user segments.
• Regularly track marketplace metrics such as active rider count, trip frequency, cancellation rates, and retention to glean insights that inform operational improvements.
• Collaborate closely with Marketing, Driver Operations, Customer Support, and Policy teams to enhance the overall rider experience throughout Ghana.
• Conduct experiments and evaluate results to enhance perceptions of affordability, service reliability, and user satisfaction in the Accra market.

Candidate Requirements

• At least 2 years’ experience in business operations, finance, commercial strategy, consulting, or analytical roles that support informed business decisions.
• Advanced proficiency with Excel or Google Sheets, capable of working with large datasets, forecasting, dashboard creation, and converting data into practical recommendations.
• Proven track record of influencing and collaborating across teams to drive action and achieve results.
• Self-motivated with a high degree of autonomy and accountability, thriving under significant responsibility.
• Fluent in English with preference for familiarity with local Ghanaian languages.
• Basic knowledge of SQL with a strong willingness to enhance this skill promptly.
• Experience in roles that merge analytics with stakeholder engagement, such as finance business partnering, commercial/operations strategy, consulting, or marketplace management.
• Comfortable presenting insights and proposals to senior level executives including General Managers and Regional Operations leaders.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience crafting or improving campaigns, funnel optimization, incentive structures, or growth strategies.
• Adept at fast-paced environments requiring prioritization and iterative experimentation.
• Strong analytical problem-solving abilities with a talent for breaking down complex challenges and producing creative, data-driven solutions.
• Additional skills in SQL, dashboard building, or process automation.

Additional Information

Uber aims to innovate global movement for the betterment of society through bold ideas and rapid progress. Although remote work is permitted, employees generally will spend at least half their working hours in assigned offices unless otherwise approved, particularly in designated hubs requiring full-time in-office presence.
