About the Role
We are looking to hire an experienced Mechanical Design Engineer to join our expanding engineering team within a top-tier manufacturing setting. This role offers a great chance for an engineer with a strong mechanical mindset and extensive proficiency in SolidWorks who can successfully oversee several projects from initial concept to final delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Create designs and develop tooling, fixtures, and systems for manufacturing processes.
- Develop both manual and automated equipment to meet client and production demands.
- Lead multiple engineering projects throughout their lifecycle.
- Assess project needs, prepare cost estimates, and aid in quotation processes.
- Produce detailed 3D models, technical drawings, and engineering documentation using SolidWorks software.
- Ensure designs meet quality, performance, and manufacturability standards.
- Coordinate manufacturing, assembly, testing, and commissioning tasks.
- Assist with equipment install and customer acceptance as needed.
- Maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs), product data, and engineering records.
- Collaborate closely with engineering, operations, sales teams, and customers to ensure project success.
- Identify opportunities for continuous improvement to increase efficiency and enhance product quality.
Candidate Requirements
- A degree, diploma, or equivalent qualification in Engineering or a related field.
- 3 to 5 years of proven experience in mechanical design engineering within a manufacturing environment.
- Strong proficiency in SolidWorks and producing detailed technical drawings.
- Experience managing multiple projects and delivering on time.
- Excellent mechanical engineering knowledge and strong problem-solving capabilities.
- Familiarity with CNC machining, tooling, automation, or presses is a plus.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Effective communication and ability to manage stakeholder relationships.
- Proactive, able to work independently and take ownership of projects.
- Willingness to travel occasionally across Europe.
