Role Summary

The Mason will be responsible for executing various masonry, tiling, plastering, and general civil maintenance tasks throughout the hotel premises. This role ensures that guest rooms, public areas, dining venues, back-of-house facilities, and exterior spaces uphold the highest standards. In collaboration with the Engineering team, the Mason will help maintain a safe, functional, and welcoming environment for both guests and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform masonry tasks, including plastering, tiling, grouting, and concrete repairs throughout hotel facilities.
• Repair walls, ceilings, floors, walkways, staircases, and other building finishes that are damaged.
• Install, replace, and repair ceramic, porcelain, marble, and granite tiles as needed.
• Carry out minor civil works such as bricklaying, cement rendering, screeding, and patch repairs.
• Address cracks, concrete damage, expansion joint issues, and waterproofing problems.
• Restore finishes in guest rooms and public spaces, maintaining hotel quality standards.
• Respond promptly to maintenance requests, ensuring minimal disruption to guests.
• Assist in room refurbishments, renovation projects, and preventive maintenance.
• Inspect building finishes regularly and report defects impacting safety, aesthetics, or guest comfort.
• Operate and maintain masonry tools and equipment safely and correctly.
• Coordinate work with other Engineering departments for efficient maintenance completion.
• Keep precise work order records and communicate material needs to the Engineering Supervisor.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety of work areas before, during, and after maintenance activities.
• Comply with all hotel policies, health and safety standards, and fire life safety protocols at all times.
• Promote sustainability by minimizing waste and using materials responsibly.
• Undertake additional duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor.
