About the Role
Yibi Precision seeks a Manufacturing Engineer to enhance our Metal Injection Molding (MIM) and precision metal components manufacturing projects, serving diverse global industrial and technology-focused clients. This position requires close collaboration with engineering, tooling, production, quality assurance, and commercial teams to oversee manufacturing feasibility studies, sample creation, process enhancements, and support during mass production phases. We desire a candidate with a hands-on manufacturing approach, strong analytical skills, and an eagerness to engage with advanced precision manufacturing techniques.
Key Responsibilities
- Evaluate customer drawings, technical specifications, product details, and tolerance requirements to assess manufacturing feasibility.
- Participate in Design for Manufacturability (DFM) reviews, sample development, trial runs, and validation of MIM and precision metal component processes.
- Collaborate with tooling, production, and quality assurance teams to detect process risks and develop manufacturing improvements.
- Support the introduction of new products from initial technical assessment through to stabilized mass production.
- Investigate production issues and contribute to improving process stability, product consistency, yields, and operational efficiency.
- Optimize manufacturing steps related to materials, tooling, forming, sintering, machining, surface finishing, and quality control procedures.
- Prepare and manage technical documentation, process logs, sample feedback, and project reporting efficiently.
- Coordinate between internal departments to meet customer specifications, delivery deadlines, and resolve technical challenges.
- Engage in continuous improvement initiatives targeting quality, cost reduction, timeliness, and productivity enhancements.
Qualifications
- Experience in manufacturing sectors such as precision metal parts, MIM, CNC machining, powder metallurgy, tooling, automotive, electronics, or medical device manufacturing.
- Proficient in interpreting technical drawings, product specifications, tolerances, and fundamental manufacturing standards.
- Knowledgeable in production workflows, sample fabrication, process enhancements, quality assurance, and troubleshooting manufacturing issues.
- Strong problem-solving capabilities paired with keen attention to detail.
- Effective communication skills for collaboration with engineering, production, tooling, quality, and commercial teams.
- Motivated to learn and contribute to MIM manufacturing processes, supporting all project phases from technical review to large-scale production.
Preferred (but not mandatory):
- Hands-on experience with MIM, powder metallurgy, small metal parts, lock and tool components, automotive, electronic, or medical device parts.
- Involvement in DFM evaluations, sample validation, process refinement, new product launches, and scaling production.
- Familiarity with standards and methodologies such as ISO 9001, IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, FMEA, 5S, or lean manufacturing principles.
- English proficiency advantageous, especially for interactions with international clients and cross-border projects.
