About the Role and Company

We are seeking a Manager for Actuarial Services within the Business Consulting Risk division at a leading global firm specializing in assurance, tax, transaction, and advisory services. This role focuses on providing insightful actuarial advice within a multidisciplinary team to support multiple client engagements domestically and globally.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute actuarial projects covering areas such as reserving, statutory reporting, solvency assessments, IFRS17 implementation, audits, and business planning.
  • Create and adapt actuarial models that meet client requirements and comply with relevant regulations.
  • Support research initiatives and specialize in niche areas to offer valuable insights for clients and consultants.
  • Develop innovative proposals to secure new client engagements and expand existing business.
  • Collaborate with peers to establish consistent standards and best practices.
  • Contribute knowledge regularly through submissions to the internal knowledge database and external publications.
  • Maintain and deepen technical expertise in actuarial modeling and related disciplines.
  • Prepare and deliver presentations and reports to internal teams and clients.

Candidate Profile and Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the General Insurance actuarial sector with at least 6 qualified actuarial exams.
  • Strong technical proficiency in reserving techniques, business planning, capital modeling, IFRS 17 standards, and audit processes.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to clarify complex technical concepts to non-specialists.
  • Proven team player capabilities with experience in leading and managing teams.
  • Flexibility, adaptability, creativity, and broad consulting and project management expertise.
  • Passion for continuous learning and personal wellbeing.
  • Preferred knowledge of actuarial tools such as R and Python, and familiarity with current IFRS 17 implementation globally.
  • Confidence in public speaking, publishing, and presenting at seminars.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities with high quality and meet deadlines.
  • Strong initiative, feedback skills, and resilience in dealing with ambiguity.
