Overview
The Maintenance Technician III will play a vital role in maintaining the seamless functioning of baggage handling systems at the airport, ensuring reliability and efficiency critical for optimal passenger experience. This role involves detailed troubleshooting of both mechanical and electrical components, analyzing failures, and implementing solutions.
Key Duties
- Support maintenance activities, including troubleshooting and repair, for mechanical and electrical elements of baggage handling systems and passenger boarding bridges using technical documentation such as electrical schematics and manuals.
- Maintain strict adherence to safety standards, specifically Lock-Out/Tag-Out procedures.
- Assist with service calls and related maintenance tasks.
- Commitment to safe work practices at all times.
Qualifications and Skills
- Completion of high school education or equivalent.
- At least two years experience in both mechanical and electrical maintenance roles.
- Continual professional development through certifications related to electrical or mechanical systems from accredited bodies or original equipment manufacturers tailored to the job's technical needs.
- Basic proficiency in interpreting electrical schematics and mechanical drawings.
- Sharp troubleshooting abilities and strong problem-solving mindset.
- Knowledgeable in operations and maintenance protocols.
- Adaptable with the ability to shift priorities rapidly according to team and system demands.
- Effective verbal and written communication capabilities.
- Customer-focused and service-oriented approach.
- Motivated self-starter with strong work ethics, eager to advance within the organization.
- Capacity to work autonomously.
Work Conditions
- This is a part-time role requiring flexibility, operating across all shifts (1st, 2nd, 3rd, and mid-shift), including weekends, holidays, and overtime, in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Work locations include secure baggage handling zones, repair workshops, and airport airfields.
- Performance against tight deadlines to support flight operations.
- Physical demands include frequent bending, stooping, climbing ladders and scaffolds, reaching, lifting items exceeding 50 pounds regularly, standing, walking, kneeling, crouching, crawling, and handling greasy machinery.
- Exposure to vibration, mechanical system components, and occasionally adverse weather conditions when working on passenger boarding bridges.
