DataForce by TransPerfect is seeking an enthusiastic Machine Learning Engineer for an onsite role based in Singapore to contribute to an innovative AI initiative. This position involves engaging with language data specifically in Malay, enhancing lexical datasets, and collaborating closely with a multi-talented team to develop solutions tailored to the Malay-speaking market.

Key Responsibilities

• Handle language datasets by creating, classifying, auditing, and refining lexical information.
• Develop natural language processing algorithms specifically for the Malay language.
• Contribute ideas for novel approaches and product enhancements relevant to the home market.
• Innovate solutions for complex challenges encountered during the project.
• Automate and streamline workflows by integrating multiple systems.
• Engage daily with cross-functional teams working towards shared objectives.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

• Minimum of one year professional experience in engineering roles across various technical domains.
• Fluency in Malay is mandatory for reading, analyzing, and annotating Malay language documents and data.
• Experience in development on iOS or Mac OS X platforms.
• Proficient in data processing techniques.
• Strong knowledge of Python and Shell scripting.
• Familiarity with version control tools, preferably Git.
• Skilled in using regular expressions for text processing.
• Basic proficiency in team communication tools such as email, messaging apps, and calendar management.

Educational Background

A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or an associated technical discipline is required.

Preferred Experience

Prior involvement in natural language processing, machine learning, or related fields is considered advantageous.

Work Arrangement

This is a full-time role requiring presence onsite in Singapore.
