Long Haul Truck Driver

Overview

This role involves driving long distances as part of a logistics company, ensuring the safe and timely transport of goods. The position requires physical presence at the worksite and does not allow remote work.

Education

Candidates must have completed secondary (high) school education.

Experience and Training

The company provides training for this position, so prior experience is not mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Plan travel routes and itineraries, making necessary reservations.
• Drive in a team or convoy to ensure safety and coordination.
• Load and unload cargo efficiently and carefully.
• Secure special permits and official documentation for transporting goods across international borders.
• Regularly inspect vehicle condition, including tires, lights, brakes, and cold storage equipment.
• Carry out emergency roadside repairs when needed.
• Conduct thorough inspections before, during, and after trips.
• Perform preventive maintenance to keep the vehicle in excellent condition.
• Communicate effectively with central dispatch to relay information.
• Maintain accurate records of cargo details, driving hours, distance covered, and fuel usage.
• Apply tarping techniques to protect cargo and ensure safe transport.

Credentials

• Possession of a valid AZ class driver's license is mandatory.

Documentation Knowledge

• Familiarity with accident or incident reports, driver logbooks, inspection reports, and trip documentation is expected.

Communication & Navigation

• Experience operating GPS devices and other navigation tools is required.

Transportation Experience

• Should be comfortable with long-haul transportation duties.

Additional Details

• A valid driver's license is mandatory.
