Role overview

This position sits within the Grains hub team at the Cupar site and is responsible for planning production across Oatso, Trads, and Bulk operations. The Line Scheduler acts as the connection point between supply planning and manufacturing, converting the short-term supply plan into a practical site plan for the next six weeks. That includes a day-level plan for the site and a detailed hour-by-hour machine schedule for weeks 0 to 3.

The role has a strong influence on supply chain and manufacturing teams, with accountability for customer service performance, manufacturing cost, and KPI outcomes. It also contributes to the iS&OP process and annual operating plan capacity build.

What the role involves

  • Turn the 0–6 week supply plan into a workable production schedule, covering daily site planning and hourly line or machine planning for weeks 0–3.
  • Take ownership of scheduling across all Cupar factory lines and keep the short-term site plan balanced and efficient across production resources.
  • Manage daily supply exceptions by adapting day, shift, and hour schedules using end-to-end supply chain information and making timely decisions on the ground.
  • Make sure scheduling trade-offs are agreed with the relevant supply chain partners and backed by accurate information.
  • Maintain planning systems and master data in PPDS to protect the quality of planning inputs and the reliability of the system.
  • Serve as the daily interface between Supply Planning and the site, communicating and administering any approved plan changes.
  • Monitor and report daily KPIs such as Plan Supply Agreement and Volume Fill, and contribute updates to weekly planning meetings.
  • Support projects and wider business changes, including R&D, productivity, and LEAN work, while reducing obsoletes and flagging risks early.
  • Contribute to iS&OP and AOP capacity planning, and provide cover for MRP and Oats planning when needed.
  • Improve performance and close issues by influencing cross-functional teams, optimising schedules, governing PSA and VFill processes, and independently resolving production problems.

Requirements

  • Hands-on experience across the full supply chain, or in planning/manufacturing roles.
  • Preferred understanding of plant operations, including capacity and bottlenecks.
  • Ability to use systems and process knowledge to assess information and choose the best course of action.
  • Confidence in building strong working relationships and influencing both internal and external stakeholders.
  • A structured yet adaptable approach to solving problems, especially under pressure.
  • Strong attention to detail and a clear drive to achieve results.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to see the wider supply chain impact of changes or issues across the network and planning teams.
  • Self-starter mindset with a willingness to improve processes.
  • Good working knowledge of Excel.

Benefits

  • Competitive salary and bonus opportunity.
  • A broad benefits package that includes critical illness cover, discounted gym memberships, enhanced parental leave, and an electric car scheme.
  • Supportive wellbeing and career development culture.
  • Inclusive workplace environment with Employee Resource Groups that help people feel valued and heard.
  • Equal opportunity hiring with support for reasonable adjustments during recruitment.
