Light Duty Cleaner - Full-Time, 2nd Shift

Job Overview

The Light Duty Cleaner will be responsible for executing various custodial tasks under the guidance of the Custodial Manager or Supervisor, adhering to the standards and protocols set by C&W Services.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform floor care tasks including sweeping, mopping, washing floors and other indoor surfaces.
• Operate light and heavy commercial floor care equipment such as buffers and shampoo machines along with necessary attachments.
• Vacuum office and public area rugs, providing spot cleaning daily and shampooing as instructed. Dust and clean furniture, exhibit displays, chairs, door trims, light fixtures, and all horizontal surfaces, including occasional high dusting.
• Clean windowsills, interior glass doors, partitions, and certain windows.
• Maintain cleanliness and glass work on entrance doors and walls, including spot cleaning interior walls as needed each day.
• Service restrooms daily by cleaning and restocking supplies, performing tasks such as wiping glass surfaces, emptying waste baskets, maintaining soap and toilet paper dispensers, dusting sills, cleaning tiles and partitions, and mopping floors.
• Monitor facilities for issues like clogged urinals or malfunctioning lights and report them promptly to supervisors.
• Collect and dispose of building trash in approved containers to designated collection areas every day.
• Replace liners in waste baskets and trash containers according to specifications.
• Clear snow from steps and walkways at building entrances and connecting pathways when directed.
• Carry out periodic cleaning duties such as high dusting, polishing leather and wood surfaces, and washing walls.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Candidate Requirements

• No prior experience needed for basic cleaning duties.
• Capable of following directions, working independently with minimal supervision, and collaborating effectively in a team environment.
• Proficient in using various cleaning tools and equipment, including portable backpack-style vacuum cleaners.
• Detail-oriented with a strong commitment to quality service, organized, and possesses high stamina and energy.

Additional Information

Parking expenses are the responsibility of the employee.

Compensation will be based on factors like collective agreement coverage, geographic location, market rates, and candidate's experience and qualifications but will not be below minimum wage.

Hourly wage offered: 18.25 CAD.
