Role Overview and Responsibilities
- Maintain constant presence at the pool area throughout shifts to ensure the safety of all pool users, including children and adults.
- Monitor and uphold the pool water quality to guarantee it poses no health risks to users.
- Conduct daily checks on pool equipment such as pumps, drains, filters, and heating systems; report maintenance needs promptly to the maintenance team and club supervisor.
- Collaborate with maintenance regarding swimming pool temperature, chlorine and pH level recordings, and upkeep of the filtration system and associated gear.
- Oversee the pool’s circulation system operation, ensuring it delivers the necessary volume of recirculated water.
- Perform daily water testing to confirm hygienic safety and administer necessary chemical treatments.
- Inspect pH and chlorine levels regularly, maintaining their appropriate standards.
- Examine underwater lighting and pool tiles daily, reporting any maintenance issues to supervisors.
- Ensure cleanliness and good condition of the main swimming pool, children’s splash pool, and jacuzzi.
- Maintain cleanliness of the hotel’s front fountain weekly.
- Arrange poolside furnishings such as sun loungers, mattresses, chairs, tables, and umbrellas each day.
- Regularly evaluate all pool assets and report any deficits or damage to the club reception and club supervisor.
Qualifications and Skills
- Possession of a valid lifeguard certification from an accredited governmental authority is mandatory.
- Current certifications in first aid and CPR are required.
- At least 1 to 2 years of experience in a lifeguard or pool attendant capacity, ideally within a hotel or resort context.
- Proficient swimming and rescue abilities with rapid emergency response.
- Basic knowledge of pool water chemistry, filtration mechanics, and preventative maintenance procedures.
- Physically fit and healthy to undertake rescue operations and handle emergencies effectively.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills for professional interaction with guests and team members.
- Exemplify a positive and helpful attitude aligning with the "Yes I Can!" service ethos; maintain a friendly and welcoming demeanor.
- Compliance with hotel grooming and uniform guidelines at all times.
- Flexibility to work in shifts, including weekends and public holidays as necessitated by hotel operations.
