Role Overview

As a Lifeguard at Yas Waterworld Abu Dhabi, you will ensure guest safety and deliver a seamless experience. This guest-facing role involves monitoring water areas, responding swiftly in emergencies, operating rides safely, giving clear instructions, attending continual training, and maintaining strong swimming and lifesaving skills.

Key Responsibilities

• Operate and ride all slides, rides, and attractions as needed for smooth park operations.
• Guarantee safety of guests, colleagues, and contractors at all times.
• Perform duties outdoors in extreme weather conditions, including water and heights, year-round.
• Strictly follow manufacturer and departmental procedures regarding ride safety and dispatch.
• Keep lifeguard rescue skills and basic life support competencies at a test-ready standard.
• Participate actively in all required training programs.
• Assist in moving furniture, ride vehicles, and equipment within the park.
• Communicate effectively in basic English and work harmoniously in a culturally diverse team.
• Be friendly, approachable, and maintain professionalism during nights, evenings, and holidays.
• Perform any additional duties assigned by management.

Essential Requirements

• Visual acuity of 20/25, corrected or uncorrected.
• Ability to swim at least 50 meters continuously using front crawl or breaststroke.
• Ability to swim underwater to a depth of 1.4 meters for 3 meters and retrieve a 10-pound brick.
• Maintain lifeguard skills according to International Lifeguard Training Program standards at all times.
• Basic spoken English proficiency.

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous training in International Lifeguard Training Program or equivalent.
• Extensive swimming experience.
• Holders of UAE driver's license or buggy license.
• SCUBA certification is advantageous.
• Prior lifeguard and guest service experience.
• Ability to swim 200 meters continuously using front crawl or breaststroke.
• Retrieve a 10-pound brick from 5 meters deep water in Yas Waterworld.
• Tread water for two minutes unaided by arm movement.
• Intermediate or higher proficiency in English (reading, writing, speaking).
• Basic Arabic speaking skills.

This role requires working outdoors year-round in varying weather conditions, including nights, evenings, and holidays. The candidate must be friendly, culturally aware, and able to collaborate in a diverse environment.
