Job Overview

This full-time lifeguard position located in Kigali, Rwanda, is responsible for monitoring swimmers' safety by using appropriate rescue techniques and observing for hazardous conditions or unsafe behavior in the swimming area. The role involves enforcing facility rules, identifying guests unable to safely participate, and reporting such instances to management.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure guest safety by vigilantly watching pool activity and intervening when swimmers are in distress.
• Maintain a safe and enjoyable atmosphere by promoting rules and providing assistance as needed.
• Administer aid to injured guests until emergency medical services arrive.
• Carry out pool maintenance tasks including towel management and cleaning the pool deck.
• Report accidents, unsafe conditions, and injuries promptly to management.
• Complete mandatory safety training and certifications.
• Adhere strictly to company policies, maintain confidentiality, protect assets, and uphold professional appearance standards.
• Engage guests warmly and assist those with disabilities, ensuring service quality.
• Communicate clearly and professionally, support colleagues respectfully, and comply with quality assurance standards.
• Perform physical tasks such as standing or walking for extended periods, lifting and moving objects up to 50 pounds independently and heavier items with assistance, and navigating uneven or slippery surfaces.

Qualifications and Certifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (G.E.D.) preferred.
• No prior work or supervisory experience required.
• CPR and First Aid certifications mandatory.
• Fitness equipment proficiency and any additional certifications required by local/state regulations.
