Overview
Eram Talent invites applications for an elite Legal General Counsel to oversee the legal framework of a leading supply chain project in Saudi Arabia. This is a critical, short-term engagement lasting 3 months, focusing on protecting commercial interests, ensuring operational continuity, and ensuring compliance with national laws.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide strategic leadership by managing and mentoring the legal team to achieve high performance during this transitional period.
- Collaborate with executive leaders and the Board to deliver strategic legal guidance aligned with corporate objectives.
- Translate broader corporate strategies into practical goals and deliverables for the legal function.
- Oversee corporate governance including preparation and maintenance of legal documents, resolutions, and compliance filings.
- Offer expert legal counsel to the CEO, Board, and senior management regarding legal rights, compliance issues, and commercial risks.
- Conduct thorough assessments of legal and commercial risks to balance business growth with asset protection.
- Identify compliance weaknesses and introduce preventive strategies to safeguard business interests.
- Draft, review, and negotiate complex commercial contracts related to customers, suppliers, logistics, procurement, IT, and construction sectors.
- Create standardized contract templates and improve legal operational processes for better efficiency.
- Continuously monitor changes in Saudi regulations affecting procurement and logistics, advising management accordingly.
- Represent the organization in dealings with governmental agencies, regulatory authorities, and trade bodies to ensure alignment with national legislative requirements.
- Prepare and present structured legal and administrative reports for executive decision-making.
Requirements
- Immediate availability or very brief notice period to fulfill the 3-month contractual assignment.
- Academic qualifications including Juris Doctor (JD), Master of Laws (LL.M.), or equivalent from internationally recognized institutions.
- Mandatory registration and licensing to practice law with the Saudi Ministry of Justice (KSA Bar / Judicial License).
- Minimum 16 years of professional legal experience within corporate entities, high-caliber law firms, government, or consulting within Saudi Arabia.
- Strong domain knowledge of Saudi corporate law, commercial litigation, regulatory compliance, and contract negotiations.
- Preferred expertise specifically in supply chain, logistics, or procurement sectors.
- Additional certifications such as LL.M. from a top UK or US law school and/or KSA Bar certification are highly desirable.
