Lead Quality Assurance Engineer

Position Overview

We are seeking a seasoned Lead Quality Assurance Engineer to spearhead enterprise-level Quality Assurance, Testing Governance, Test Automation, and Quality Engineering initiatives across a variety of technology platforms and major digital transformation projects. This position demands deep expertise in Banking, Financial Services, FinTech, or Digital Banking sectors.

Comprehensive Job Responsibilities

• Design and implement organization-wide QA strategies, policies, methodologies, and quality standards.
• Create detailed test strategies, QA plans, and quality frameworks to ensure consistency in testing processes across projects, applications, and production releases.
• Develop and enforce testing governance frameworks and oversee testing across multiple projects while ensuring compliance with quality gates and standard procedures.
• Administer and guide a broad range of testing activities including functional, integration, system, regression, user acceptance (UAT), API, performance, and mobile testing to guarantee comprehensive test coverage.
• Lead the development and execution of an enterprise-wide test automation strategy that supports inclusion in continuous integration/continuous deployment (CI/CD) pipelines, fostering continuous testing and modern quality engineering practices.
• Establish and monitor defect management policies, analyze defect trends, conduct root cause analysis for critical issues, and manage risk mitigation related to testing.
• Lead, mentor, and build proficient QA teams including QA managers, test leads, automation engineers, and analysts, promoting ongoing development, sharing of best practices, and performance management.
• Collaborate closely with business, product, development, PMO, infrastructure, and IT operations teams along with vendors and senior leadership to provide timely updates on testing progress, quality metrics, and release readiness, participating actively in governance and project review meetings.

Required Expertise and Experience

• Over 15 years of experience in software QA and testing with at least 7 years in leadership roles managing large-scale QA teams.
• Demonstrated ability to create and implement enterprise QA strategies and governance frameworks across complex projects.
• Proven experience in test automation, continuous testing, and integrating automated tests within CI/CD workflows.
• Strong background in managing technology transformation programs and ensuring quality standards in banking or financial services environments.
• Experienced in stakeholder and vendor management along with expertise in quality reporting and release governance.

Domain-Specific Experience

• Substantial knowledge of Banking, Financial Services, FinTech, or Digital Banking industries.
• Familiarity with enterprise banking applications, digital platforms, and regulatory quality requirements in financial services.

Educational Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Software Engineering, Information Systems, or a related field.
