Peponi's is a modern Neapolitan-style pizza eatery located in Nairobi, Kenya, characterized by its vibrant atmosphere and lively bar. Our aim is to make every guest feel comfortable and welcome while enjoying premium pizzas, refreshing drinks, and an energetic vibe.
Role Overview
We are recruiting a full-time Lead Host / Hostess to work onsite at Peponi's in Westlands. This role serves as the key figure in managing the front-of-house experience by welcoming guests and setting the tone from when they arrive until they are seated. You will spearhead the guest journey at the entrance and bar/waiting zones, ensuring guests are engaged and excited, whether they are seated promptly or enjoying drinks while waiting.
The position demands leadership qualities to uphold and inspire hospitality excellence, oversee multiple guest touchpoints, and serve as the primary liaison between guests and the service team.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage guest arrival experience comprehensively from entry to seating, including energizing the bar and waiting areas.
- Exemplify enthusiasm, warmth, and confidence that encourages both guests and team members.
- Turn waiting periods into positive experiences by actively engaging with guests in the bar atmosphere.
- Administer and improve systems such as waitlists and table assignments to maximize seating efficiency.
- Guide guest movement skillfully among entrance, bar, and dining areas.
- Collaborate with servers, bartenders, and kitchen leaders to ensure smooth service coordination.
- Proactively resolve issues and make prompt decisions to enhance guest satisfaction.
- Maintain and promote hospitality standards setting a benchmark for the team.
- Serve as the central communication hub for front-of-house staff alignment.
- Provide mentorship to new employees on hospitality practices and company culture.
- Take charge of maintaining a welcoming and lively environment at entrances and bar areas during busy periods.
