Role Overview
This full-time position, based on-site in Doha, Qatar, combines key responsibilities as a Laboratory Manager, Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) Officer, and Analytical Chemistry Specialist. The Laboratory Manager will oversee daily lab operations, supervise personnel, manage equipment usage and maintenance, handle inventory control, and implement quality assurance protocols.
In the capacity of HSE Officer, the role demands the formulation and enforcement of health, safety, and environmental policies, conducting risk evaluations, delivering safety training sessions, and assuring adherence to local regulations and institutional guidelines.
As an Analytical Chemistry Specialist, duties include designing and conducting analytical tests, validating laboratory methods, interpreting experimental data, preparing detailed technical documentation, and aiding research and development efforts. Collaborating closely with academic and research teams, the role supports a secure, efficient, and high-quality laboratory environment fostering education, experimentation, and innovation.
Qualifications and Skills
- Proficiency in laboratory techniques and operation of analytical and research apparatus.
- Strong analytical skills for data interpretation, method validation, and solving chemistry-related problems.
- Experience in maintaining quality control standards to guarantee lab result accuracy and compliance.
- Involvement in research and development to enhance experimental designs and laboratory methodologies.
- Academic credentials in Chemistry, Analytical Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, or related scientific disciplines, preferably a bachelor's degree or higher.
- Understanding of HSE standards, lab safety protocols, and risk management in scientific settings.
- Demonstrated leadership ability for supervising lab teams, managing workflow, and meticulous documentation.
- Excellent communication skills, keen attention to detail, and readiness to work in a multidisciplinary, on-site academic/research environment.
