Job Location
This position is based at nursing homes located in Tampines, Senja (Bukit Panjang), Bukit Batok, and Tampines Care Home in Singapore.
Role Overview
The Kitchen Assistant is tasked with daily housekeeping duties in the kitchen area to uphold high hygiene and cleanliness standards within the nursing home environment. This includes collaboration with Assistant Executive, Operations, and Operations Executive teams, as well as coordination with outsourced vendors to ensure safe food management, cleanliness, proper plating, and delivery of meals to residents.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
- Maintain food hygiene standards, including receiving food deliveries, safe storage, temperature control, and food preparation support.
- Maintain environmental cleanliness by washing dishes and cutlery daily, performing routine cleaning, and conducting weekly deep cleaning tasks.
- Manage and handle cleaning chemicals responsibly and safely.
- Identify and report any maintenance issues within the kitchen to the Operations Support Assistant or Operations Support Executive.
- Ensure kitchen supplies are stocked adequately to fulfill daily operational needs of the nursing home.
- Keep work areas safe by removing hazards and ensuring kitchen tools and equipment are cleaned and stored properly after use.
- Coordinate with external vendors during food receipt processes.
- Collaborate with the Centre Manager to perform kitchen facility audits.
- Assist with plating activities as required.
Candidate Requirements
- Basic proficiency in English for effective communication with colleagues from various backgrounds.
- A service-oriented mindset with a strong focus on customer care.
- Previous experience in hospitality or food and beverage sectors is preferred.
- Flexibility to work rotating shifts as needed.
