Role overview

Herschel Supply Co. is hiring a Key Holder for its Banff store. This position is a step above Sales Associate and carries extra responsibility for opening and closing the store, guiding the sales floor, supporting daily store operations, and maintaining a positive team environment when management is not present. The role reports to the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager and helps deliver the brand experience in-store while keeping the team moving toward shared goals.

To support an immediate start, applications are being accepted only from candidates who currently live in Banff or Canmore.

What you will do

• Take responsibility for opening and closing duties and ensure the store runs smoothly and on schedule.
• Direct activity on the sales floor, assign tasks, and help maintain momentum throughout the shift.
• Assist customers with genuine enthusiasm and a solid understanding of the product range.
• Support and coach Sales Associates by offering guidance, feedback, and encouragement during the day.
• Keep the store neat, organized, clean, and aligned with merchandising standards.
• Manage stock flow, including shipment receiving, replenishment, and preparing merchandise for the floor.
• Process purchases accurately and confidently using POS and mobile checkout systems.
• Help the team focus on performance targets and work together to meet key business metrics.
• Handle customer issues constructively and work toward positive resolutions.
• Stay updated on new product releases, brand campaigns, and store events, and help bring them to life in-store.

What the employer is looking for

The ideal candidate is a motivated leader who can connect with both customers and teammates. Previous retail experience is preferred, especially experience as a Key Holder or a strong Sales Associate.

You should be comfortable creating excellent customer experiences, communicating clearly, coaching others, and making decisions on the floor when needed. Strong organization, reliability, and the ability to balance multiple priorities are important. The role also requires comfort with weekends, evenings, holidays, and special events, along with a positive, growth-minded approach. Experience in visual merchandising or inventory is considered an advantage.

Availability and working conditions

This is a full-time role with expected hours of 25 to 40 per week. Scheduling flexibility is required, including opening and closing shifts, evenings, weekends, holidays, and special events. At least one full weekend day of availability is mandatory.

Pay

The wage range for this role is CAD 19.50 to CAD 20.75 per hour, depending on experience.
