Role Purpose and Vision

The K-5 Curriculum Specialist is tasked with selecting and integrating research-supported classroom materials and assisting educators in their effective use within Springboard programming. Reporting to the Assistant Vice President of Curriculum and Instruction, this position contributes to maximizing instructional impact through product strategy and collaboration within the Products & Services Team. The role supports Springboard's mission to bridge the opportunity gap by closely aligning home and school learning experiences.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and refine multiple curriculum libraries that align partner curricula with research-backed, meaningful learning experiences that adhere to Springboard's instructional framework.
• Ensure all literacy and math instructional products demonstrate progressive vertical alignment, conform to state standards, and exhibit cohesive instructional design across grades and subjects.
• Participate actively in cross-functional product development projects, integrating stakeholder feedback and meeting project milestones successfully.
• Drive instructional and product enhancements based on data, research insights, and best practices to improve usability, quality, and educational impact.
• Design and produce instructional materials that translate Springboard’s vision into accessible, engaging learning tools for students, educators, and families.
• Utilize in-depth knowledge of literacy and mathematics to develop K–5 instructional products grounded in evidence-based practices and aligned with academic standards.
• Manage multiple curriculum development projects independently, balancing quality, scheduling, and implementation requirements.
• Innovate instructional strategies informed by Universal Design for Learning and culturally responsive design to enhance teaching and family engagement.
• Prototype, test, and refine new instructional solutions to enhance the instructional portfolio and extend product reach.
• Collaborate across teams by incorporating feedback from educators, families, and partners to improve product usability and effectiveness.
• Leverage data from implementation, assessments, and feedback to identify improvements and ensure product sustainability and learner success.

Required Qualifications and Competencies

• Strong experience in shaping product and program strategy by translating user feedback into prioritized curriculum improvements.
• Expertise in crafting user-friendly instructional materials that enhance navigation and reduce confusion for users including educators and families.
• Ability to maintain instructional integrity by ensuring materials align with Springboard’s vision, standards, and are sequenced coherently for consistent learning experiences.
• Experience in managing the lifecycle of literacy and math curriculum products through design, validation, and delivery phases.
• Commitment to upholding brand quality and delivering error-free instructional products that reflect Springboard Collaborative’s mission.
• Proficiency in using data-driven insights to guide curriculum design and respond to trends effectively.
• Alignment of daily tasks and projects with the organization’s strategic roadmap and long-term objectives.
• At least 5 years of professional experience in developing K-5 curricula focused on math and literacy.
• Proven success in enhancing family engagement within K-12 education contexts.
• Relevant experience in education technology or curriculum development environments.

Preferred Additional Skills

• Master’s degree in Education or a related field.
• Experience working with large public school districts in the United States.
• Knowledge of project management practices such as Agile or Waterfall methodologies.
• Background as an elementary school teacher or instructional coach is advantageous.

Compensation and Benefits

Springboard Collaborative offers equitable compensation aligned with experience and expertise. The typical salary midpoint for this role is approximately $87,188 annually within Band 3, with consideration of educational background and competencies. The organization also provides a comprehensive benefits package including medical insurance options, fully covered short and long-term disability, retirement matching up to 6%, 20 days of paid time off plus holidays, unlimited sick leave, paid parental and marriage leave, and professional development funds of $2000 annually. Additional Information

Although this role is remote and open to applicants across the United States, occasional travel to company retreats is expected. Springboard's headquarters is located in Philadelphia, PA.
