Job Overview
We are currently seeking a Junior Maintenance Technician to join our Calgary team. This full-time, onsite role is ideal for an individual who enjoys practical, hands-on work and is committed to quality and excellence in residential property maintenance. This position offers a promising path for those looking to establish a long-term career in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance tasks, repairs, and attend to resident service requests promptly.
- Carry out preventative maintenance and conduct scheduled inspections to preserve property condition.
- Assist with fundamental repairs involving plumbing, electrical systems, drywall, painting, carpentry, and mechanical components.
- Maintain cleanliness and upkeep of common areas and support day-to-day building operations.
- Identify maintenance issues, troubleshoot effectively, and escalate concerns as appropriate.
- Collaborate with contractors and property management personnel as necessary.
- Maintain detailed and accurate records of all completed maintenance activities.
- Provide courteous and professional service to residents at all times.
- Adhere to all company policies and health and safety regulations.
- Participate in an after-hours emergency on-call rotation when required.
Candidate Profile
- Experience in residential property maintenance, facilities upkeep, construction, or related disciplines.
- Basic proficiency with plumbing, electrical systems, drywall, painting, carpentry, and general building repairs.
- Strong problem-solving abilities and troubleshooting skills.
- Understanding of preventative maintenance best practices.
- Excellent communication skills coupled with a customer-focused attitude.
- Capability to independently prioritize tasks while functioning as a cooperative team member.
- Physical ability to perform manual tasks such as lifting, ladder climbing, and working both indoors and outdoors under various weather conditions.
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical training, apprenticeship experience, or relevant trade certifications.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Office applications and computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
