Junior Facilitator

About the Role

This position is based in Ferntree Gully, Victoria, Australia, requiring employees to commit to at least one day per week during school terms at assigned schools. While many schools are easily reachable by public transport, having personal transportation is advantageous but not mandatory. The company offers travel compensation for commuting time to and from schools.

The schedule changes each term, and shift arrangements can be adjusted based on university timetables. New employees start on a casual basis, supporting and facilitating discussions under the guidance of experienced staff. Duties include session preparation, student engagement, responding to queries, and assisting the lead educator.

Training begins over the Term 1 school break, aligning with most universities' mid-semester break, with active facilitation starting in Term 2. Training includes incremental teaching responsibilities to build facilitation skills, supported continuously throughout employment.

Responsibilities

• Execute engaging engineering projects for students
• Support and help facilitate workshop sessions
• Work alongside teachers to embed project-based learning techniques
• Ensure a safe, clean, and organized working environment
• Assist in managing student behavior and maintaining positive classroom dynamics

Requirements

• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or higher degree in a STEM discipline
• Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong technical abilities with practical application experience
• Genuine enthusiasm for educational work
• Capacity to work effectively both independently and collaboratively

Preferred Qualifications

• Possession of a valid driver's license
• Access to a personal vehicle is beneficial
• Availability during weekdays is desirable
